Islamabad: National Assembly Standing Committee on Local Government and Rural Development has appreciated the efforts made to operationalise the Gwadar port.

The committee, during a visit of Gwadar deep-sea port, directed local contractors to complete the assigned tasks in time so that this important port starts operation at the earliest. Chairman Standing Committee, Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani along with the members of committee, Nazir Ahmed Jatt, Sabir Hussain Awan, Krishan Bheel, visited ongoing development works in Gwadar, said a press release issued here on Friday.

Director General Gwadar Development Authority gave presentation about Gwadar deep sea-port and Gwadar master plan.

The committee directed to complete a report about status of development projects in Gwadar and would be submitted to National Assembly as well as President and Prime Minister. They also directed to ensure that all housing societies must conform to the rules and construction should be according to the quality standards.
